The largest Science and Technology Center in Poland, EC1, was opened in 2018. Built in the space of a more than 100-year-old power plant in Lodz, it is sending the energy of knowledge into the world again.

Tuesday, 20th of May 2025

Tuesday evening we are going to spend in the interiors of the Museum of the City of Lodz - Poznanski Palace.

The Palace – the culmination of the 19th-century empire of Izrael Poznański, called ‘the cotton king’, was built as part of an enormous factory and residential compound, typical of the industrial architecture of the 19th century. Factory, lavish residence, houses for workers, school, hospital, and even a church – in times of glory it all resembled a true ‘state within state’. In less than half a century, Izrael Poznanski changed from a lowly merchant, who contributed a manufactory worth merely 500 roubles into his marriage with Leonia Hertz, into a powerful factory owner with 11 million in his account.

Before enjoying the dinner in the Dining Room of the Palace we will have an opportunity to see the Palace both from the outside, including beautiful garden, and from the inside. In addition, a musical surprise will be waiting for you in the Palace's Mirror Hall.

After the dinner, we will give you a chance to discover by your own the revitalized area of “Manufactura” and one of the longest pedestrian street in Europe, Piotrkowska, when walking back to the Hotel.

Wednesday, 21st of May 2025

Wednesday evening is intended to Gala Dinner. The place we have chosen for you is “Monopolis”.

The Vodka Monopoly is definitely one of the most important symbols of the factory heritage of Lodz. The third largest factory complex (after the factories of Karol Scheibler and Izrael Poznanski) was built in 1902 and was an important element of the city's development for many years.

The Vodka Monopoly has always played a great role in the life of the city. It was not only a place of work, but also a center of social and cultural events. There was a company nursery, a library and even a theater club there. At its peak, monthly production amounted to one million half-liter bottles of pure and quality vodkas. 620 people worked in two shifts on five production lines and one manual bottling plant. Factory was working until 2007.

Currently, in the post industry environment, “Monopolis” combines different areas of activity in an extraordinary way. Next to the office areas, where the highest level of work comfort is created, there are spaces for cultural events, spending free time and relaxation. It is an inspiring and friendly place opened to and for the people of Lodz.
